On December 8th, Project Healthy Schools welcomed a new Program Manager to lead our mission as we move into our 21st year of supporting school wellness across the state of Michigan. Please join us in welcoming Heidi Roy-Borland to the PHS Program Manager position. Heidi brings a wealth of experience in education, grant development, and program management to Project Healthy Schools. Prior to accepting the PHS manager position, Heidi worked for over 25 years in public education, including as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and principal. She has a unique understanding of partnership development and has worked with organizations such as Building Healthy Communities, Food Gatherers, and U-M’s Interrupting Prolonged sitting with ACTivity (InPACT) program, just to name a few. Heidi has a deep knowledge of grant development and management, having worked with a broad range of funders to support the health and well-being of staff and students in public schools.
Heidi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education & Psychology from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Michigan University. Please give Heidi a warm welcome to the Project Healthy Schools team. We are thrilled to have Heidi’s leadership and look forward to her meeting our amazing schools, partners, and supporters this year!
